Acknowledgement – Josie McAlinney, formerly of 5 The Mews, Fintona, Died 6th June 2025

The family of the late Josie McAlinney would like to express our deep appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all those who sympathised, prayed for, and supported us through our recent sad bereavement. Josie was a widely respected lady and a dearly loved mother, mother in law, grandmother, sister, sister in law, aunt and friend.

We would like to acknowledge all those who paid their respects in any way. Thank you to those who sent Mass or sympathy cards, or donations in lieu of flowers, and to those who left messages online or via social media.

Thank you to those who called to Grianan House Funeral Home, brought food, lined the funeral route or who joined us at the Mass.

Sincere thanks to all our relatives, friends and neighbours who helped us in so many ways, to grieve as a family. In particular, we would like to convey our gratitude to the Sheridan family for their years of kindness towards Josie.

A special word of thanks to Father Seán Mulligan for his spiritual support and the comforting requiem Mass. We convey our appreciation also to the Sacristan and everyone who took part in the Liturgy, especially the readers, and our musician Louise Coyle who provided the beautiful music.

Thank you to McAtee Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner in which the funeral arrangements were carried out and to the gravedigger Tommy for preparing Josie's final resting place. Our thanks also to McAtees for the beautiful floral tributes and for the very welcome refreshments after the funeral.

We would also like to thank St. Lawrence’s Primary School for their guard of honour.

And finally we send our grateful thanks to all the health professionals who helped with Josie’s care at home, especially Adelaide & her team of community district nurses, the staff at Fintona Medical Centre, Dowdalls Pharmacy and Marie Curie nurses, Anna & Ursula.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude.

Josie is ever loved and sadly missed - may her gentle, kind and generous soul be granted eternal rest. Her Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St. Lawrence’s Church, Fintona on Friday 4th July at 10am.

Our Lady pray for her.
