Kathleen Elmar SOMERVILLE

The family of the late Kathleen Elmar Somerville would like to express their heartfelt thanks to everyone who offered support, kindness and sympathy following the loss of a precious mum, mother-in-law, granny, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend.

We are sincerely grateful to our family and friends who visited Elmar in hospital, called at the house, brought gifts, sent sympathy cards and text messages, telephoned, attended the funeral service and gave donations in lieu of flowers to Kilhorne Parish Church, Annalong Building Project and St. Mark’s Parish Church, Armagh Fabric Fund.

Special thanks to the Rev. Canon Malcolm Kingston, Rev. Sarah Parkinson, Rev. Bryan Martin, Rev. Canon Brian Blacoe and Rev. Geoff Hamilton for visiting Elmar at home and in hospital and for their pastoral care for Elmar and the family. Thank you to Rev. Canon Malcolm Kingston and Rev. Sarah Parkinson for the lovely service in Elmar’s home before the funeral. A very sincere thank you is due to Rev. Bryan Martin and Rev. Canon Malcolm Kingston for conducting such a fitting funeral service in Kilhorne Parish Church, Annalong. We remember with gratefulness the pastoral support received from Dean Robert Townley and Dr Bob Brown (Armagh), Mrs Shirley Crutchley and Mr Matthew Campbell (Annalong).

We owe a huge debt of gratitude to all those who assisted in any way at the Thanksgiving Service for Elmar’s life in Kilhorne Parish Church, Annalong especially to Kilhorne Women’s Fellowship for providing refreshments for the family before the service and for the beautiful food following the committal. Thank you to David Hanna for recording the service, also to those who assisted with parking and preparing the church hall. Our thanks to Mr Mel and Mr George Campbell, Mr Andrew Hamilton, Mr Harry Teggarty and family members who assisted at the committal. Thanks also to the gravedigger Mr William McBurney.

The family would also like to thank most sincerely Mr Stephen and Mr Matthew Stoops, Funeral Directors, for the caring and sensitive manner in which they carried out the funeral arrangements and for their consideration of the family at such a difficult time. Thanks also to Mrs Heather Robinson for her thoughtfulness and advice.

We are very grateful to all the staff in Abbey Court Surgery, Armagh, especially Dr Conor Moore, who were so kind and considerate during Elmar’s brief illness. Thanks also to the practice nurse Sister Lynda Coleman for all her support over the years.
Thanks also to the staff in Gordon’s Chemist Armagh, especially Michelle and Gail, for all their help and advice. Thank you to the staff at Ann’s Home Care who took such good care of Elmar at home. Also, a sincere word of thanks to the District Nurses for their professionalism, compassion, empathy and assistance and to the Marie Curie nurses for their attentiveness to ensure Elmar was comfortable. Thanks also to Community Equipment Stores for all their assistance.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our sincere appreciation and gratitude.
