Benson – 4th December 2018 (peacefully) at Brookmount Nursing Home, Coleraine, Kathleen (Kay), formerly Ratheane Avenue, Coleraine, beloved wife of the late Canon W J R Benson, much loved mother of Rosemarie and Steven and the late Michael.

Service In St. Patricks Church, Coleraine on Monday 10th December 2018 at 11:30am. (Church open for light refreshments from 10.00am.) Interment in Knockbreda Parish Churchyard, Belfast (arriving 3.00pm).

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu if desired for Church Mission Society, c/o Mrs Mona Murdock 31 Bushmills Road, Coleraine.

Deeply regretted by the entire family circle.

Those of us who lost Kay and 'The Canon' often referred to by Kay as Bill Benson need the sympathy. Kay with her encouragement to the young on their studies and the Canon's wit, wisdom and advice on life in general. They were good company and fun to be with. Who could forget 'The Canon' acting as accomplished director at celebratory events. Both Kay and Bill were an excellent couple and equivalent to God Parents.
