Co Tyrone.
Died 24th April 2026.
We, the family of the late Kitty, wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who offered their condolences, prayers, and support during our recent sad bereavement. Kitty was the devoted wife of the late Charlie, adored mother of Dr. Ann, Martin and Cahal and mother in law of Fionnuala. The dearly loved grandmother of Charlie and Nadia, and the much loved sister of the late Michael, Mary, Rose and Pauline. Kitty will also be greatly missed by her brothers -in-law Gerry and John, and her nephews and nieces. She was a loyal friend to many in the neighbourhood and parish, and was widely respected by all who knew her.
Thank you to everyone who attended the wake in our home, especially those who brought food, and those who gave so generously of their time and helped out in the kitchen, this was very greatly appreciated. Our thanks also to those who brought/sent Mass or Sympathy cards and left messages of condolence on-line or on social media, and to those who sent flowers or donations in lieu. Thank you to all those who lined the funeral route from Kitty’s home and to those who joined us for the beautiful Requiem Mass in St Davog’s Church, Dromore.
We are blessed to have had the love and support of many friends, neighbours and work colleagues throughout this difficult time. This has helped us in so many ways to find the inner strength to grieve together as a family, and we will be forever grateful.
A special word of thanks to Father Denis Dolan P.E. for his spiritual support and for the very comforting Requiem Mass and homily. We convey our appreciation also to the Sacristan, the Eucharistic Ministers, and everyone who took part in the Liturgy, especially our readers, gift bearers and our musician Louise Coyle who provided the beautiful, reverent and uplifting music.
Thank you to McAtee Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner in which the funeral arrangements were organised and carried out, and to the gravedigger Eamon for preparing Kitty’s final resting place. Our thanks also to Sheenagh of Bumblebee Garden for the lovely floral tributes, and to the St. Patrick’s Hall ladies for the very welcome refreshments after the funeral.
Finally, we send our sincere thanks and deep appreciation to all the health care professionals with whom Kitty came into contact, especially the staff of The South West Acute Hospital, GP’s and staff of her GP practice in Dromore, her faithful District Nurses, and all the allied health professionals who tended to Kitty. We particularly appreciate her wonderful carers and sitters who supported her personal care with such tenderness. We are so very grateful for the kindness and respect shown to her.
It is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude and appreciation.
The passing of our Mother has left a great void in our lives, she will be forever in our thoughts. May her kind, generous and gentle soul be granted peace and eternal rest.
Her Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St. Davog’s Church, Dromore on Friday 12th June at 7.30pm. Our Lady, pray for her.
