Kathleen Doherty (née McGuirk)

The family of the late Kathleen (Kate) Doherty (nee McGuirk) wish to express our sincere thanks to everyone who sympathised with us during our recent bereavement. Sadly, due to COVID restrictions, we were unable to welcome you into our home at the time of Kathleen’s death or to her Funeral Mass, but we deeply appreciate the many ways that you reached out and supported us.
We were especially touched by the kindness of our own family circle in both County Derry and County Cavan. To those who paid their respects, sent mass cards, sympathy cards, phone calls, messages via text and social media, flowers and food, these were a great comfort to us at a difficult time. To those of you who lined the funeral route or stood outside the Chapel, we thank you.
We extend a special thanks to Fr McDermott for his great support and kind words. We would like to thank Peter McLaughlin for the beautiful music during the funeral mass. A word of thanks to the nurses, nursing assistants and doctors in Ward 26, Altnagelvin Hospital.
To the Carers in the Community, the Respiratory Nurses, Eglinton Medical Practice and Lloyds Pharmacy; your hard work behind the scenes did not go unnoticed.
Thanks also to the undertakers, Brendan and Thomas O’Brien, for the caring, compassionate and professional way they carried all the funeral arrangements. Kathleen was Brendan’s godmother.

Kathleen’s month mind mass will be held on Sunday 25th April, at 12 noon in Star of the Sea, Faughanvale.
