Laurence (Larry) Phillips
Acknowledgement Notice for the Late Laurence Phillips:
We, the family of the late Laurence Phillips, wish to express our heartfelt thanks to all who supported us during our recent bereavement.
We are deeply grateful to our extended family, friends, and neighbours who attended Larry's Wake, Funeral, and Burial. Thank you to all who sent Mass cards and sympathy cards, offered condolences, or supported us through calls, visits, and many gestures of kindness. We especially appreciate Larry's friends and customers who have called into the shop in recent weeks to share their memories of him. Knowing how highly regarded he was, has been a great comfort to us.
Thank you to all who contributed so kindly and generously to our chosen charity, the Motor Neuron Disease Association, in memory of Larry's late nephew, Seamus O'Hagan, and his late sister, Rosaleen Murphy, both of whom are dearly missed.
Our sincere thanks to Fr. Richard Naughton for his support, and for celebrating the Requiem Mass with such reverence and warmth. We are also grateful to Fr. Noel Kehoe, who concelebrated the Mass and joined us for Larry's burial in St Laurence's Graveyard, Omeath.
Our thanks to Marita King who provided such beautiful music during the Mass.
We extend our gratitude to Cathal and staff of McAnulty Funeral Directors for their professionalism and guidance.
We wish to acknowledge Patsy and Kathleen McLogan, who provided refreshments for Larry's wake and the staff of the Grand Central Hotel, Omeath, who provided refreshments after the funeral and offered a welcoming space for family and friends. Our heartfelt thanks to the local businesses that sent food and also to our family and friends who helped throughout the wake and funeral.
Our sincere thanks to the carers and district nurses who supported Larry with such kindness and dignity, helping him remain comfortable and peaceful at home. We also thank the nurses and doctors of Clanrye Surgery, the Acute Care team and Daisy Hill Hospital for their care, professionalism, and support throughout his illness.
Larry's Month's Mind Mass will take place on Sunday, 5th July 2026, at 10am in the Sacred Heart Church, Cloghogue, Newry.
We truly appreciate every act of support shown to our family. Your kindness has helped us in our grief and will always be remembered
