We, the family of the late Liam McQuaid, wish to express our deep appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all those who sympathised and supported us on our recent bereavement.

Our heartfelt thanks to our kind relatives, neighbours and friends who called at our family home, brought mass cards, sympathy cards, telephoned and left messages on social media, brought food and floral tributes and to those who made donations.

We are forever indebted to all who helped in any way, especially those who made tea, provided refreshments, assisted with traffic management and to St Molaise GAC for supplying additional facilities and carrying out a Guard of Honour.

Thanks to the wonderful staff of Waterside Hospital who cared so passionately for Liam during his time there. Their support and the support of the Palliative Care Team gave great comfort to Liam and the family during his final days.

Thanks also to the staff of Irvinestown Health Centre and Brendan Lilley’s Chemist for their assistance over the years. Special thanks to the local carers and team from the Western Health & Social Care Trust who cared for Liam in such a professional manner during his time at home.

Thanks to Canon Duffy and Canon McGourty for their spiritual support over the past few years. A special thanks also to Fr Canny and Fr McFaul who visited Liam in his final days.

Thank you to Canon Duffy for the beautiful funeral service and to all that assisted, including Francie Molloy, Eucharistic Ministers, Readers and to Emer, Ailish and Samantha for their beautiful singing and music.

Thank you to Claude McKervey Funeral Directors for the professional, dignified, and respectful way in which the funeral arrangements were carried out. Thank you to the grave diggers for preparing Liam’s final resting place.

Thank you also to Mahon’s Hotel for the refreshments after the burial.

As it is not possible to thank everyone individually, we trust this acknowledgement will be accepted as a small gesture of our sincere appreciation.

Liam’s months mind mass will be celebrated on Saturday 6th January at 6pm in the Sacred Heart Church, Irvinestown. Mass can also be viewed on the parish webcam.
