Lila passed away peacefully at home on the 22nd of April, a widely respected, devoted family lady and much-loved mother, mother in law, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, sister in law, aunt and friend. We, her family wish to express our sincere appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all those who sympathised, prayed for and supported us through our recent sad bereavement. We have been overwhelmed by the sheer volume of mass and sympathy cards and private messages we have received. We would like to acknowledge all those who paid their respects in any way. Our thanks to those who called to the house, who telephoned, who sent Mass or sympathy cards, flowers or donations in lieu of flowers and those who left messages online or via social media and to those who lined the funeral route or who joined us via the webcam. Sincere thanks to our relatives, friends and neighbours who helped out in so many ways, to help us grieve as a family.
A special word of thanks to Canon Patrick MacEntee and Father Kevin Connolly for their spiritual support at the house and for their visits to Lila during her illness and to Father Kevin for the comforting Requiem Mass. We convey our appreciation also to the Sacristan and everyone who assisted with the Mass, especially the singer Louise Coyle who provided the beautiful music. Thank you to Patrick of McAtee Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner in which the funeral arrangements were carried out and to the grave digger Tommy for preparing Lila’s final resting place.
We extend a sincere thank you to the Doctors and staff of Fintona Surgery and to the Beragh & Fintona District Nurses, the Marie Curie Nurses and the Western Trust home care team who cared so professionally and compassionately for Lila. Many thanks also to Una and the staff of Una Cassidy Chemists, Fintona.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude.
Lila’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St Lawrence’s Church, Fintona on Saturday 5th June 2021 at 10am and may also be viewed via the Donacavey Parish Webcam.
