The sister and family of the late Martin McElhinney would like to offer our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all those who sympathised with us on ourr ecent bereavement.
Sincere thanks to Fr Noel McDermott for your support and friendship to Martin, especially during his illness. Thank you for the beautiful requiem massa and prayers at the burial.
Thanks also to the Chaplins of Altnagelvin Hospital and the Foyle Hospice who visited Martin.
We thank Martin's close friends who visited or contacted him during his illness, this was great comfort to Martin.
We offer our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to our extended family, friends and neighbours who attended the removal, the wake and funeral, travelled long distances, sent Mass and sympathy cards, brought flowers or gifts.
The family would also like to pay tribute to the dedicated and caring Doctors, nurses and staff of the Foyle Hospice, for their care and kindness towards Martin during his final weeks. Thanks also to all the staff at Foyleside Family Practice, the Renal unit and Respiratory ward (Dr Mc Shane and colleagues) at Altnagelvin Hospital, the NW Cancer centre (Dr Stenhouse and colleagues) and the transplant unit at Belfast City Hospital as well as Vivien and the staff of Medicare Drumahoe.
Thanks to McLaughlin Funeral Directors for the dignified manner in which they carried out the funeral arrangements and to St Mary’s Folk Group, and Shea and Caitlin for the beautiful music.
Thanks to Alison and her team who provided refreshments after the burial and the Park Hall committee for the use of the hall.
It is impossible to thank everyone individually, we hope this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our gratitude. The holy sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for the intentions of all.
Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul. Martin’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Church, Tamnaherin this Saturday, 9th December at 6.30pm.
