Mary Gertrude Reavey (née McAleavey)

Reavey (nee McAleavey) (Banbridge) died 17th January 2018 peacefully at Seapatrick Care Home, Mary Gertrude (Gertie) R.I.P. beloved wife of the late Peck and much loved mother of Claire and dear grandmother of Sophie and Eve and great grandmother of Lennan formerly 41 Reilly Street.

Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on her soul.

Her remains will arrive at St Patrick's Church on Friday evening at 7:30 pm Funeral Mass on Saturday at 2:00pm Internment afterwards in St Patrick's cemetery. Deply regretted by her sorrowing daughter, granddaughters, great grandson, brothers, sisters, family circle and friends.

Gertie and Peck lived next door to my parents (John and Emma Leathem) for decades on Reilly Street.
As neighbours my parents could not have wished for better with them both looking out for my parents as they aged.
We live in Canada and one of the highlights of any trip home was a visit to the Reaveys. Their hospitality was unsurpassed and we were always assured of an enjoyable evening with Gertie and Peck.
We are saddened to learn of her passing and the loss of yet another family friend and delightful local personality. Any dinner out with Gertie was always fun as she knew so many people and the history of their families - she was the local ancestory directory.
We were hoping to visit with her in September on our next trip home. Alas we will not enjoy her infectious personality again in this realm and that saddens us.
We send our deepest condolences to her family (especially Claire and Anne whom we know well).
