We, the family of the late Mary Colgan would like to offer our heartfelt thanks to all those who have sympathised with us on the heartbreaking loss of our wonderful Mum. The love and support shown to our family by relatives, friends, Mum’s former colleagues, and all those who visited the house, shared fond memories, attended the Requiem Mass and burial, sent floral tributes or Mass cards, provided refreshments, helped during the wake, or travelled long distances to be with us, your kindness has meant the world to us and brought great comfort during this time.
We are especially grateful for the kind tributes paid to Mum from her many friends and colleagues over the years both directly and on social media. The posts, messages and comments from Mum’s team at Early Years, her friends from many chapters of her life, from An Riocht GAC and Down GAA, and the minutes silence held at Pairc Esler on Saturday, May 31st have meant so much to us all.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the carers at Moneydarragh Flexicare and the Allied Health professionals who supported Mum with such dedication and compassion. The care and energy you brought meant so much to her, and to us. We are forever grateful for your kindness and support, and for the love you shared with Mum. Our sincere thanks also go to the carers, doctors, nurses and ward sisters at Daisy Hill Hospital for their professionalism and compassion during Mum’s final days. Thanks also to the staff at Craigavon Hospital and The Royal Victoria Belfast for your care during Mums visits.
Thank you to Fr. Sean Cahill, for his spiritual support, pastoral care and the beautiful requiem mass. Thank you to Linda Gawley for the beautiful music and singing at the funeral and all who participated in Mum’s funeral mass. And to all who attended the funeral in person or online.
Thank you to Nicky Doran, Paul Doran and Paul Lively (Nicholas Doran Funeral Directors) for their guidance, support and kindness to us and the dignified and professional manner they conducted Mum’s funeral arrangements. And our gratitude to the gravediggers who prepared Mum’s final resting place.
To the staff of the Kilkeel Golf Club for the funeral lunch, our sincere gratitude to you all.
To our friends at An Riocht, the Ladies of Mourne and Cunninghams Butchers, your support during the wake of both of our parents will forever be appreciated. Thank you to Kelly McCabe for the beautiful flowers.
As it would not be possible to thank everyone individually, please accept this as a token of our appreciation for all you have done for our family. The holy sacrifice of mass will be offered for your intentions.
Finally, to a deeply loved Mother, Wife, Nana, Sister, Aunt, Mother-in-Law and Friend, we take some comfort in knowing that you are together with Dad. You were the best Mum in the whole world, and we will love you forever.
