We the family of the late Mary Doogan, wife of Dinny, mother of Marcella, Sabrina, Karina and Teresa, their spouses, grand-children and wider family circle wish to express our sincere thanks to all who supported us on our recent and sudden loss of our dear beloved wife, mother and grand-mother. To all those who called to the house, telephoned, sent mass cards and messaged through social media we thank you. A very special word of gratitude to all who sent food and tirelessly assisted during the wake. We were greatly touched by the large presence at Mary’s funeral; we know many people travelled long distances to be there. The presence of our neighbours and friends on the roadside for Mary’s journey to the church and the GAA representatives that formed a guard of honour was a huge comfort.

Thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Cuilcagh medical practice who took great care of Mary over the years and to Peadar and his staff at McGovern’s Chemist, for whom nothing was too much trouble day or night. To the doctors, nurses and staff at the North West Cancer Centre, Derry, thank you for the great care and support you provided to Mary over her years of treatment. A special word of thanks to all the doctors and nurses in ward 9 at the SWAH hospital, who looked after Mary in her final weeks and provided care to allow Mary to come home. We extend our gratitude to the district nurses Marie Curie and the palliative care team for the amazing care and kindness shown to Mary during her final weeks at home. You all were always so attentive and provided much support to our family; we will never be able to thank you enough.

Our Sincere thanks to Fr Maurice McMorrow who give Mary spiritual support in the last week of her illness, this was a great comfort to Mary and her family. Fr McMorrow we also thank you for celebrating Mary’s Requiem Mass in a truly personal and meaningful way which meant a lot to her family. Thank you to Niamh Crudden who provided the music and sang so beautifully at the Funeral Mass. Thank you to our funeral director Pat Blake for his efficiency and sensitivity, his support was invaluable. Also appreciation for the grave diggers who prepared Mary’s final resting place and a special thanks to Kinawley Community Centre for providing refreshments after the funeral and to all those who helped.

Since it would be impossible to thank everyone individually for their kindness to us, we trust this acknowledgement as a token of our heart-felt thanks and appreciation.

Mary’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated at 11.00 am on Saturday 2nd July in St Naile’s Church, Kinawley. Refreshments will be served after in Kinawley Community Centre.
