Mary Mc Anerney (née Mellett)
Formerly of The Mall, Castlebar, Co. Mayo and Arthurs Villas, Armagh.

The family of the late Mary Mc Anerney, wish to acknowledge the many kind expressions of sympathy and gestures of friendship and support shown to us following the sad loss of our dear mother.

We offer heartfelt thanks to our extended family and the many friends and neighbours who attended the wake, removal, Requiem Mass and burial and who provided support to us at this sad time. For all those who travelled long distances, sent condolences, sympathy and Mass cards, messages, shared online tributes and happy memories of Mum, or made charitable donations to the Samaritans, we are truly grateful.

To Susan and all who assisted at the wake, sent gifts of food and flowers, your kindness is greatly appreciated. To Daniel and the team from The Deli at The Palace, thank you for the delicious food and offers of assistance, it is very much appreciated.

A special word of thanks to the carers, nurses, staff and management of Greenpark Nursing Home for the tremendous kindness, respect and care shown to Mum during her time there. We offer you our thanks for the warmth and compassion given to Mum and for the dignified care she received from you.

We also thank Dr. Marshall, Dr. Moore and the nurses and staff of Abbey Court surgery for their care and attention to Mum over the years. Also the carers, social workers, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and staff of Lisnally Day Centre of Southern Health and Social Care Trust that were so supportive in assisting us in keeping Mum at home for as long as possible. We are very thankful for their professional care and advice.

Mum’s faith was the enduring constant in her life and we extend our special thanks to Fr. Desmond Corrigan, Fr. Emmanuel Fasakin and Fr. James Adawai for your compassionate ministry to Mum in her final hours in Greenpark, in her home and at her Removal to the Cathedral. Heartfelt appreciation for delivering a moving and eloquent eulogy and offering a beautiful Requiem Mass and burial. Thank you also to Catherine Vernon and Turlough Toner for assisting with Holy Communion and Jimmy Mc Kee for assisting at the Mass.

We offer our sincere gratitude also to St. Malachy’s Church Choir, Choral Director, Lois Bennett, Organist, Laurence Lubys and Soloist Edel Moore for singing a beautiful Requiem Mass with instrumental accompaniment. We also extend our deep appreciation to Principal, Mrs.Noeleen Tiffney and the pupils of St. Catherine’s College for providing a guard of honour at the Cathedral.

We extend our gratitude to JJ Mc Ardle & Sons Funeral Directors for their sensitive, dignified, compassionate and professional handling of all funeral preparations. We also thank Annette of ‘Ol Flowers for the beautiful floral arrangements.

As we cannot individually thank you all we hope you accept this acknowledgement as a sincere token of our grateful appreciation and heartfelt thanks for your support and kindness. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
