Maureen Hughes (née Flood)

As we approach the Month’s Mind Mass for our beloved Mum Maureen, we would like to thank everyone who has supported us with their kindness, prayers, cards, messages and acts of compassion over the past month. We would also like to thank everyone who helped in any way, those who visited Mum, attended her wake and funeral, brought food, sent Mass cards, floral tributes and messages of sympathy, and everyone who has kept us in their thoughts and prayers. Your love has brought great comfort to our family during this difficult time.
A special and heartfelt word of thanks must go to the funeral undertaker and our uncle, Fintan Flood and his son Peter as Mum’s brother and nephew having to arrange and carry out her funeral was undoubtedly one of the hardest things he has ever had to do. Despite his own grief, he cared for her with the utmost dignity, compassion and professionalism, giving his beloved sister the beautiful farewell she deserved. It is something our family will never forget, and we are forever grateful.
An enormous thank you to the District nursing team, Dr Giby and the Marie Curie team and the staff of 3 South Craigavon Hospital who went above and beyond for mum and our family. A special thanks to Father Seamus for his guidance and support and beautiful mass and to Caitriona and Ciaran for the beautiful music.
Mum is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure. Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in the wonderful memories she leaves behind and in the love she gave so freely to all who knew her.

The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for her intentions at her Month’s Mind Mass on Sunday 2nd August at 11am in St Patrick’s Church Dromintee.

May her gentle soul rest in eternal peace.
