We, the family of the late Michael McDaid, would like to express our sincere appreciation to everyone who showed us overwhelming support and compassion on our recent sad loss.

To everyone who sent flowers, Mass cards, sympathy cards, messages on social media, visited our home and attended the funeral; we will be forever thankful. Thanks also to those who sent donations in lieu of flowers for the Haematology Unit, Altnagelvin Hospital.

We are grateful to family, friends and neighbours who helped at the wake and provided refreshments to visitors.

A special thanks to Dr Patrick Elder and the staff of the Haematology Unit at the North West Cancer Centre for the excellent and continuous care provided to Michael. To Dr Paul Molloy and the staff of Clarendon Medical, Dr Martina Molloy, Hospice Nurses and Carers who all provided Michael with tenacious and dignified care; we offer our heartfelt thanks.

Thanks to all the priests who visited Michael and his family. To Fr Sean O’Donnell for a beautiful Funeral Mass and to Fr Gormley, Fr Stephen and Fr Madden for concelebrating.

Thanks to Lauren, Bethany and Damien for the beautiful music and to the staff of the City Hotel for the refreshments after the funeral.

A special word of thanks to Patsy McCallion for his love and guidance and to Brendan and Thomas O’Brien of O’Brien’s Limavady, Funeral Directors, who provided an excellent service. Their professionalism and compassion shown to the family was outstanding and greatly appreciated.

It is impossible to individually thank everyone who made such a difficult time that little bit more bearable but we hope this acknowledgment will be accepted as a token of our sincere gratitude for all the love and care received.

Michael’s month mind Mass will be celebrated at 7.30pm in Termonbacca Retreat Centre on Thursday 13th April.
All welcome.
