The family of the late Mickey Mc Elwee (RIP) wish to express there sincere thanks to all who sympathised and supported them following Mickeys passing. We want to acknowledge and thank extended family members, friends, neighbours and all who sent messages of condolences, mass and sympathy cards. We wish to recognise those who respectfully lined the path of Mickeys final journey and the staff and volunteers of St Vincent De Paul Society for the guard of honour provided.

Our sincere gratitude to the priests of the parish, Fr Boyle and Fr Mc Ginn for Mickey’s beautiful and personal funeral mass. We also wish to thank Andrea and Patrick for their beautiful musical contribution and Donal Canavan for his touching musical tribute at the grave side.

Sincere gratitude to the paramedics and the staff on Ward C3, Antrim Area Hospital who treated Mickey with care and dignity in his final days and supported his family at this difficult time. Thanks also to Dr Murty and the staff at Cookstown Health Centre who cared for Mickey in the months prior to his passing.

Much appreciation to Joanna and staff at Niall Loughran Funeral directors for the professional and dignified manner in which they carried out the funeral arrangements and their kindness to Mickey’s family at this difficult time.

Thanks to Michael Mc Elhatton and the staff at Greenvale Hotel for hosting family and close friends following Mickey’s funeral.

Mickey was an accomplished traditional musician and multiple All Ireland medal winner, we would like to acknowledge the great enjoyment and fulfilment that he gained from being part of this community over the years.

As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our sincere gratitude.
Mickeys month’s mind Mass will be celebrated in Holy Trinity Church, Cookstown on Saturday 24th October at 6.00pm.
