A Thank You in Loving Memory of Myrtle Drury MBE
We, the family of the late Myrtle Drury MBE, wish to express our heartfelt thanks to all who supported us and cared for our beloved mother during her final journey, and who surrounded us with love following her passing.
We are deeply grateful to the Doctors and Nurses of Ward 1, Downe Hospital, for their dedicated and compassionate care. Our thanks also go to the carers who looked after Mum so kindly in her own home, your kindness will not be forgotten.
A sincere thank you to Reverend Myrtle Morrison for her thoughtful pastoral care and spiritual support, both to Mum and to our family. We are also truly appreciative of Reverend Marie Walsh, who led a beautiful and heartfelt service in Mum’s home on the day of the funeral. To Reverend Mervyn Jamison for leading such a beautiful and meaningful funeral service in Saintfield Parish Church. To Reverend Chris Pollock for his visits and pastoral care throughout the years.
To the choir, whose singing brought comfort and grace to the service, and to the church caretaker for all the unseen but essential work—we thank you.
We extend our gratitude to 11A Café and French’s Restaurant for their help with food in the days leading up to the funeral, and again to French’s Restaurant for providing such lovely refreshments after the funeral.
To our friends, neighbours, and wider community—thank you for the many cards, many messages, visits, and prayers. We have been simply overwhelmed by your kindness and deeply touched by the outpouring of love and support. Your presence, support and shared memories at the house and at the funeral meant more than words can say.
Finally, our heartfelt thanks to Norman McBriar & Son Funeral Directors for their professionalism, guidance, and compassion during such a difficult time.
There are simply too many to thank individually, but we hope this message is received as a token of our sincere appreciation. We are truly blessed.
With deepest gratitude,
The Family of Myrtle Drury MBE
