Elaine, Julie and David wish to thank all those who sympathised with them in their recent sad bereavement of their dear mother Myrtle Patterson.

Special thanks to Dr Forde, mum’s oncologist for her kindness and caring for mum with such empathy.

Thanks to all the staff of 2B at the Belfast City Cancer Centre, we appreciated all your care during mum’s 5 week stay.

Special thanks to the Marie Curie Hospice, Belfast. To every single member of staff and volunteers for their unfailing care and attention. We will never forget how tenderly she was cared for and us as a family in her last days.

We thank our family and friends for their practical and prayerful support with regular visits to mum’s home and during her stays in the hospital and hospice.

A special word of thanks to Rev Ian Kenny for his care and compassion shown to mum. We appreciated his regular pastoral visits during mum’s illness, always at the right time! We are so thankful for his prayers, words of comfort and for conducting the funeral service.

We thank the ladies of Hillsborough church for willingly providing and serving the refreshments following the service. Thanks also to those who took part in mums service of thanksgiving.

Thanks to Douglas funeral directors for their support and professionalism during this difficult time. A special thanks to your employee Naomi, who also was one of mum’s best friends. Thanks for going above and beyond for mum and carrying out her wishes and making things easier for us at a very difficult time for us all.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to attend the wake, send cards, texts, provide delicious food, made a donation via online at www.douglasfuneraldirectors.com or cheque payable to “Marie Curie Hospice” c/o Douglas funeral directors, 20 Dromore road, Ballynahinch. BT24 8HP, attended the funeral service or helped out in any other way.

We must publicly thank Robert, John and Jill for supporting us over the last 7 months as we have been so consumed with mum’s illness and caring for her.

Finally, we thank God that mum is in heaven and this isn’t the end. We are thankful she was saved and not afraid to die.
“We are confident, I say and willing rather to be absent from the body and be present with the Lord” 2 Corinthians 5 v8.
