Acknowledgement.
Patrick (Padraig) Joseph Irwin,
Fivemiletown, Co Tyrone.
Died 13th June 2026.

The family of the late Padraig would like to express our deep appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all those who sympathised, prayed for, and supported us during our recent sad bereavement. Padraig was a widely respected, hard-working gentleman, but primarily he was a devoted family man. Beloved husband of Elizabeth, adored father of Anthony (Grainne), Christopher (Jolene) and Bronwen (Alastair) and dearly loved grandfather of Freddie. Much loved brother of Seamus (Eileen), Trisha (Paul), Eileen (Sean), Colleen (Kevin) and the late Sean, and a much loved uncle and friend to many.

Thank you to everyone who called to the wake at our home, sincere thanks to those who brought food and to those who gave so generously of their time to serve food and tea, your kindness and support were truly appreciated. Special thanks to thanks to those who prepared the field and assisted with the parking, and to Clogher Valley Rugby Club for facilitating parking and to those who drove the shuttle buses. Our thanks also to those who telephoned, sent Mass or Sympathy cards, messages, flowers or donations in lieu for NI Air Ambulance. Thank you to those who lined the funeral route or who joined us at the Requiem Mass, especially those who travelled long distances to be with us.

We are blessed to have had the love and support of our family, friends, neighbours and work colleagues, throughout this difficult time, this is greatly appreciated and has helped us to find strength to grieve together as a family.

A special word of thanks to Very Rev. Father Brendan Gallagher P.P for his spiritual support and the very comforting Requiem Mass. We convey our appreciation also to the Sacristan and everyone who took part in the Liturgy, especially our readers, and our singer Maria Cameron, who provided the beautiful reverent and uplifting music, which added so much to the funeral service.

Thank you to McAtee Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner, in which the funeral arrangements were carried out and to the gravedigger Brendan for preparing Padraig’s final resting place. Also to Mary of Howe’s flowers for the beautiful floral tributes, and to St John’s Hall for the use of the facilities, and Kim and John McDowell and staff for providing the very welcome refreshments.

And finally, we send our sincere thanks and deep appreciation to the NI Ambulance Service the Air Ambulance and the Doctors and Nurses in Belfast Royal Victoria Hospital, for their care of Padraig.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude.

Padraig is loved and missed every day. May his passionate, kind, generous soul be granted peace and eternal rest. His Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St Mary’s Church, Fivemiletown on Sunday 12th July at 10am. Our Lady pray for him.
