The husband, son, daughter, brother, sisters and entire family circle of the late Patsy McKernan, who passed away on 11th September 2020, would like to take this opportunity to express their sincere thanks and heartfelt appreciation to everyone who sympathised and supported them during their recent bereavement.

To every friend and relative who visited or helped care for Patsy 24 / 7 this year especially during the difficult lockdown, we are indebted to you all.

Thank you to the kind neighbours of the Drum Road who helped in any way they could during Patsy’s final months.

Thank you to all who called at the home, sent Mass Cards, Sympathy cards, letters of condolences, brought food and helped prepare the house and garden.

Special thanks to Genie Sweeney for such generous food contributions throughout the wake.

We thank all the doctors, especially Dr. Gray and Dr. Magowan of Coagh Surgery for their continued care, phone calls, and home visits and also the treatment room nurses for their care of Patsy over the years of her illness.

Grateful thanks to the staff of Antrim Area Hospital A&E Dept. who nursed Patsy and supported family so kindly at Christmas, Laurel House for years of care and kindness and the Macmillan Unit for their kindness, compassion and support to Patsy and the entire family.

Special thanks to the District / Community nurses and the Teams of Carers (too many to mention) who were so good and kind and who treated Patsy with such care and dignity during her final months at home. Also to all the staff at Falls Chemist Cookstown who were so kind and considerate to Patsy for many years.

Thanks to the Marie Curie Team and to Hospice at Home who offered visits and overnight stays during Patsy’s final months.
A big heartfelt thank you to Tracy Wilson (MCNS) who arrived in the night, just in time to comfort and support the family as Patsy peacefully passed away.

Sincere thanks to the priests of the parish especially Fr. Boyle who visited Patsy in her home for communion and prayer and for celebrating a beautiful requiem Mass.

Thank you to all the readers, to Patrick, Anna and Ella for their beautiful singing and to Roisin McCurry for the beautiful music.
The family were overwhelmed and comforted to see how many turned out to line the roadside as Patsy made her final journey and although we couldn’t speak to each and everyone who did, we thank you from the bottom of our heart.

Heartfelt thanks to all the staff of Niall A Loughran funeral directors for their dignified, caring and professional manner at such a difficult time.

Finally, a huge thank you to all who made donations in lieu of flowers in aid of the local Marie Curie nurses and the Macmillan Unit.

Since it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we hope that this acknowledgement will be accepted as a heartfelt and sincere expression of our gratitude and appreciation.

The months mind mass for the happy repose of Patsy’s soul will be celebrated on Sunday 11th October at 12 noon in Holy Trinity Church Cookstown.

Have you considered?
