Acknowledgment / Month’s Mind:

The Late Pauline McCauley (née Murphy)

It is with heart felt gratitude that we, Pauline’s family, would like to thank all of those who sympathised, prayed for and supported us through the sad loss of our precious Mother.

To the Emergency Department and Ward 26 staff who looked after our Mother so well, with kindness and professionalism before her passing.

To Father John McDevitt, Our Lady of Lourdes, who kindly attended Mammy in the hospital and for the beautiful and personal mass.

For the Catholic Guides of Ireland who have always played an important role in Mammy’s life, especially Mary, Bridget, Sarah and Angela who were good friends to Mammy and have supported us since her passing. Also the other leaders for the camaraderie and the guard of honour at her funeral.

To the Rainbow Centre where Mammy was a committee member who offered practical and emotional support.

To Bradley & McLaughlin Funeral Directors and the professional and dignified manner in which they carried out all of Mammy’s funeral arrangements.

To Anne Marie Hickey for the beautiful singing and Charlotte Logue for the wonderful music, which made the mass so special and helped us achieve Mammy’s funeral wishes.

We wish to sincerely thank all those who called to Mammy’s home to pay their respects, brought food, sent Mass cards, flowers and messages of sympathy and attended the requiem mass and funeral.

So many people have shown us compassion and kindness since our Mother’s passing, to all who helped in any way, Mammy’s brilliant neighbours from Shantallow and Larkhill, loving family and friends, thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.

Mammy: Though we need to weep your loss, you dwell in that safe place in our hearts…

May you continue to inspire us:
To enter each day with a generous heart.
To serve the call of courage and love
Until we see your beautiful face again
In that land where there is no more separation,
Where all tears will be wiped from our mind,
And where we will never lose you again.

(From John O’Donohue poem: On the Death of the Beloved)
