Paul Matthewson - Month’s Mind / Acknowledgement

The family of the late Paul Matthewson, 127 Bishop Street, would like to express their sincere thanks to all those who sympathised and supported them in their recent sad loss of their much loved brother, brother-in- law and uncle Paul.

We offer our heartfelt thanks to all those who visited our home, brought mass or sympathy cards, flowers, provided food, left social media comments and attended the wake and funeral mass in person and online through the webcam link.

A very special thanks to Father Paddy Baker, St Columba’s Church, Long Tower, for the beautiful Requiem Mass, support to the family and eulogy in honour of Paul’s memory.

Special thanks to Bradley & McLaughlin Funeral Directors, for arranging the beautiful music and singer and for the very dignified and professional manner in which they carried out the funeral arrangements.

We wish to express our sincere gratitude to all those who cared for Paul throughout his short illness : Dr Thompson, Foyleside Family Practice, the District Nurses and Specialist Palliative Care Nurses, Sinead Molloy and Yvonne Black. In particular we would like to thank the exceptional staff and oncology team at Ward 50 in Altnagelvin who cared for and looked after Paul in his final weeks, all of whom went above and beyond every single day.

We cannot express just how touched we were at the great kindness shown by everyone and hope that this small note will be accepted as a token of our thanks.

Paul’s Months Mind Mass will be celebrated in St Columba’s Church, Long Tower, on Monday 28 March at 7.30pm.
