Peggy McKee (nee Mackin)

We, the family of the late Peggy McKee, wish to express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all who offered support, sympathy and kindness during our recent bereavement. We are deeply grateful to everyone who attended Peggy’s wake and funeral, shared stories and memories, brought food, sent mass and sympathy cards and helped in so many other ways.

To all the staff of Avila Nursing Home, Bessbrook, we offer our sincere thanks for the care and kindness shown to Peggy during her time there. Thanks also to the staff of Cornmarket Surgery, especially Drs O’Reilly, Reynolds and McKinley, who cared for Peggy over the years and to the Acute Care Team for their kindness and professionalism towards the end of her life. A special word of thanks to the staff of McKeevers chemist, especially Adele, for her invaluable advice and support on so many occasions and to Peggy’s most gifted surgeon, Mr Robin Brown FRCS, whose skill and expertise enabled her to have so many more years of life.

Sincere thanks to Fr Anthony Moffett and Fr Dunne at Avila, and to Fr Patrick Desmond who officiated at Peggy’s funeral. Thanks also to Gary Coghlan, the sacristan and Ellen Maguire and Kevy Canavan for the beautiful music during the mass and to McGennity Funeral Directors for taking care of the funeral arrangements.

As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our thanks. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for all.

Peggy’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St Patrick’s Church, Cullyhanna at 11.30am on Sunday 19th July 2026.

May she rest in peace.
