The death has occurred of:
Philomena (Phil) MORRIS
Philomena (Phil) Morris
Dean Crooks Fold, Upper Newtownards Road, Belfast.
Formerly of Meencloghore, Scraghy, Castlederg, Co Tyrone.
We, the nieces and nephews of the late Phil Morris, would like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to all who offered their support, condolences, and kindness during our time of loss.
We would like to thank the staff in Ward 28 in the RVH for their attention, care and kindness to Phil in the last weeks of her life; the many health care professionals who attended to her over the years; the staff and friends in Dean Crooks Fold who were so kind to her during her residence there.
We particularly wish to thank Phil’s many friends, whom she met during her working life in Belfast, firstly as a hairdresser and finally in the NI Blood Transfusion Service , who visited her at home and in the hospital, did her shopping, brought her to doctor and hospital appointments and cared for her generally. We truly appreciate all your kindnesses to Phil and pray that God will reward you all for your devotion and loving care to her.
We extend a special thanks to all who visited either O’Neill’s Funeral Home in Belfast or McKervey’s Funeral home in Ederney; sent Mass and sympathy cards, and attended the Funeral Mass in St Colmcille’s Church, Newtownards Road, Belfast and the Requiem Mass in St Joseph’s Church, Lettercran Road, Pettigo, Co Donegal. Your kindness and presence brought us great comfort during this sad time.
A special word of thanks to Claude McKervey, assisted by Patsy Dolan and Martin Donnelly, for his professional and caring organisation of the funeral arrangements and the preparation of Phil’s final resting place. Thanks is also extended to the staff of O’Neills Funeral Home, Stewartstown Road, Belfast for their cooperation, support and kindness during the wake in Belfast.
We sincerely thank Fr. Conor McGrath at St Colmcille’s Church and Fr. Frank McManus at St Joseph’s Church for their spiritual guidance and for celebrating the Masses.
Thanks to Liza Trainor, Eleanor Farry and Vincie Carr for the beautiful music and singing during the funeral masses.
Thanks also to Paul Kelly at the Termon Centre, Pettigo for providing refreshments after the funeral service.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, we hope this acknowledgment will be accepted as a token of our heartfelt appreciation.
Phil’s Month’s Mind will be celebrated in St Joseph’s Church, Lettercran at the 9.30am Mass on Sunday 18th May 2025.
