A Tribute to Roy
To Lorna and family, we are all saddened to hear of Roy's passing. I met Roy some years ago when I travelled from Australia to Ireland to see the beautiful place my Dad grew up in, Roy and Dad were cousins. From the moment I arrived, Roy and Lorna made me feel most welcome, and I have treasured that short time I spent with Roy and Lorna and all through the years since. Roy and I drove through the Glens of Antrim and saw his favourite places he painted and each had a special story and place in his life's record of journey on canvas. I shared these memories with my own family and everyone knew whom Roy was and how much of a talented artist he was and a devoted family man. From what I saw, Roy had an incredible love of nature, its beauty and the landscapes that surrounded it, and through his paintings he brought to life in colour what life is truly about for then, now and beyond.
Though you have left this world Roy, you have left your legacy in your art and your kind nature, we will never forget you.

Soft mists rise at the break of day
Cliff's that guard the oceans roar
Legends whisper on every shore"
