Sarah Elizabeth (Betty) Long (née Blake)

The family of the late Sarah Elizabeth (Betty) Long, 205 Glenshane Road, would like to extend their appreciation to everyone who has sympathised with, and supported them on their recent loss.

Thanks to everyone who was able to visit, sent sympathy cards, letters of sympathy, phone calls, texts, emails, social media messages, flowers and donations to Marie Curie.

Thanks also to those who attended the funeral service, those who stood by the roads en-route from Betty’s home to the church, those who waited outside the church to pay their respects, and those who attended her interment at Faughanvale Presbyterian Church afterwards.

The Long family would like to acknowledge the Reverend Alastair Rosborough who presided over such a personable and sympathetic portrayal of Betty during her funeral service. With deep gratitude as well, for the contributions of the violinist, the soloists, the organist and the Knowhead caretakers.

Thanks also to W.J.O’Brien & Son Funeral Directors for all their efforts and attention, which ensured that Betty was laid to rest sensitively, and with the dignity she merited.

Finally, Betty’s family wish to express their heartfelt thanks to all those within the medical profession who helped, comforted and guided Betty through the difficult challenges of those last few years of her life.
There are too many to name individually, but, to all the consultants, specialists, doctors, ambulance people, and every variety of nurse involved, all of whom tried their best for her, please know that the Long family’s appreciation is deeply sincere, and that
they are eternally grateful.
