21st May 2024

The entire family circle of the late Shane wishes to thank most sincerely all those who sympathised with us in our recent bereavement. Thanks to all who called at the house, brought gifts of food, telephoned, sent Mass cards, sympathy cards and to all who travelled to attend the wake and funeral. Special thanks to all the kind relatives and friends, who worked in and around the home during the wake and supported the family in so many ways. Thank you to all those family and friends who supported Shane particularly in the months and weeks prior to his passing, it gave him such joy and strength.

A special thanks to Fr. Brian McCann for his celebration of Requiem Mass and for his support to the family in the weeks prior to Shane’s passing. Thanks to O’Kane’s Funeral Directors who carried out the arrangements in a beautiful, dignified and professional manner. Thank you to Naomh Gall CLG for the guard of honour Shane received both in and out of the chapel, it meant so much to us all and we know Shane would have been so proud. Thanks to all those who donated to Shane’s chosen charity Medical Aid for Palestinians, we also pledge to donate to the NI hospice, Marie Currie and Cancer Fund for Children.

We will be eternally grateful to the Doctors and nurses in the City Hospital Cancer Centre, Dympna from the Ni Hospice, Lita and her district nursing team in Lisburn Health Center, Marie Currie, Cancer Fund for Children and the Macmillan Nurses, all for the amazing care Shane and the whole family received during the last 14 months. Particular thanks to all those who enabled Shane to stay at home comfortably to his last breath surrounded by those who loved him dearly.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our appreciation.

Shane’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated at 12pm on Sunday 14th July in St Colman’s Church, Lambeg.
