We, the family of the late Sylvia Bowstead would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation for all those who supported us during our recent bereavement. Thank you to all those who called at the wake house, sent mass cards, sympathy cards, for the lovely flowers and floral tributes and all who attended the funeral we have been truly overwhelmed.
A special word of gratitude is extended to all our close friends and family, for your help, kindness and support preparing everything before and during the wake we are forever grateful.
We wish to thank all those who took care of Mum in the last few weeks of her life especially Quayside Medical Practice, Doctors, Ward Sisters, Nurses, Stoma Nurses, and Physiotherapists from Ward 31 Altnagelvin Hospital, also the Community District Nurses and the Palliative Care team at Foyle Hospice especially, Dr Bronagh O’Doherty, Palliative Care Nurses Melissa and Pamela, Marie Curie nurses, we will be forever grateful for how you took care of our mother.
We would also like to offer our thanks to the entire Cassidy family in particular Penny for visiting Mum in hospital every day and for everything you have done for Kevin and myself we will be forever grateful.

To Father Daniel McFaul, St Mary’s Chapel, Creggan, thank you so, so, much for visiting and all the many blessings you gave Mum, also the lovely requiem mass and kind words you spoke about our Mum it was so touching. To Isobel, Sinead and Erin for the most beautiful music it was so lovely. Also to Kay and Mickey Carlin for the most amazing Floral spray for Mum’s coffin we thank you so much.
As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our appreciation and gratitude.
Sylvia’s Month’s Mind mass will be celebrated on Friday 19th June 2026 at 7.30pm in St Mary’s Chapel, Creggan.
