The death has occurred of:
William Anthony (Tony) McLAUGHLIN
The family of the late William Anthony (Tony) McLaughlin wish to express our heartfelt and sincere thanks to everyone who sympathised with and supported us during our recent bereavement.
We are deeply grateful to all who attended the wake and funeral, sent Mass and sympathy cards, made donations in lieu of flowers and offered support in countless ways. The outpouring of kindness and generosity shown to our family was a tremendous source of comfort and strength. Knowing how many people held daddy in their thoughts and prayers brought us great consolation during our time of loss.
Our sincere thanks to Fr Harkin, Fr McDermott and Fr Hasson for their prayers and for concelebrating such a beautiful and meaningful Funeral Mass. We are also very grateful to Michelle Conaghan and to Eamon Karren, the organist, for the beautiful music that enhanced the service and made it such a fitting tribute to Daddy.
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all the management and staff of Deanfield Private Nursing Home for the exceptional care, kindness and compassion shown to our daddy during his short illness and throughout his time in Deanfield since August 2025. We are especially thankful for the dignity, respect and genuine affection with which he was treated every day. We would also like to acknowledge the wonderful care given to our mummy during her time in Deanfield from March 2025 until her passing in December 2025. The support, reassurance and friendship shown to both our parents, and to our family, brought great comfort to us and will never be forgotten. We will always be grateful for the kindness, professionalism and compassion shown to them throughout their time in your care.
Our sincere thanks also to Dr Quinn and the staff of Dr Quinn & Dr Brolly Medical Practice for the care they provided to Daddy over many years, and more recently to Aberfoyle Medical Practice for their support and attention during his illness.
We would also like to thank Curran’s Bakery for providing the food at the wake, and Mary McCloskey and all those who so kindly helped with and provided refreshments in Bethany Hall following the funeral service.
Our heartfelt thanks to Kieran and Noeleen of W J O’Brien & Son Funeral Directors, Eglinton, for the compassion, professionalism and quiet reassurance they provided throughout our bereavement. From the moment Daddy passed away, they guided us with great care and sensitivity, ensuring that every detail was attended to with dignity and respect. Their support eased many of the burdens associated with arranging a funeral and allowed us the time and space to focus on remembering and celebrating Daddy’s life. We are sincerely grateful for their kindness and expertise.
The support shown to our family following Daddy’s passing was overwhelming, and we will always be grateful for every kindness extended to us.
As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our sincere appreciation.
Tony’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated at 4.30pm on Saturday 13 June in Christ the King Church, Limavady.
Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.
