Acknowledgement – (William) John Patterson, formerly of 51 Calais Road, Burton on Trent, DE13 0UJ. Died 8th November 2023.

The family of the late John would like to express our deep appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all those who sympathised, prayed for, and supported us through our recent sad bereavement. John was a widely respected gentleman and a dearly loved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend.

We would like to acknowledge all those who paid their respects in any way. Thank you to those who sent Mass or sympathy cards, or flowers and to those who left messages online or via social media.

Thank you to those who called to the wake at Grianan House Funeral Home, who lined the funeral route or who joined us at the Mass.

Sincere thanks to all our relatives, friends who helped us in so many ways, to grieve as a family.

A special word of thanks to Father Seán Mulligan for his spiritual support and the comforting requiem Mass. We convey our appreciation also to the Sacristan and everyone who took part in the Liturgy, especially the readers, Stephanie Patterson, and Mary Wheate, and to our musician Sinead Taggart who provided the beautiful music, special thanks to Stanley and Delores Patterson.

A Personal thank you to McAtee Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner in which the funeral arrangements were carried out and to the gravedigger Tommy for preparing John’s final resting place. Our thanks also to Roisin of Nettles and Petals for the beautiful floral tributes and to the St Patrick’s Hall ladies for the very welcome refreshments after the funeral.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude.

John is forever loved and sadly missed, may his gentle, generous soul be granted eternal rest, and may the soft winds of love blow over his resting place. John’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St Mary & St Modwen Church, Burton on Trent, On 31st December 2023 at 6pm by Father Arthur Matip. Our Lady pray for him.
