Latest Sympathy Notices

I would just like to say that I was very sorry to hear about Jackie's untimely death. I was a young man up the Falls Road in Belfast working for the CBC and worked with Jackie for a few years. He left a lasting impression on me and I always regret not trying to find him earlier to have a chat about old times. I met Eileen Lavery last night in Newry [where I now live] and we were talking about Jackie and how special he was. I only found out today that he passed away.......very sad.

I would be grateful if you could send me his address so that I can send his wife and family a card. I would also love to have a photo of Jackie as I remember him only as a young man in his twenties during the troubles but one who left a lasting impression on me.
After leaving the CBC I went to South Africa and came back to become a University lecturer and get my doctorate etc etc. I think Jackie would be proud of that and I always wanted to talk to him about the CBC. But as that won't happen I can only say that he must have brought the same qualities I saw to his family and I am glad I knew him and he was part of my early life in Belfast.

Again my condolences and prayers from N. Ireland
