Latest Sympathy Notices

The Management, Editor and Editorial Staff of the Belfast Telegraph deeply regret the death of their former colleague and good friend Micheal, and offer their sincere condolences to his wife Olive, daughters Sarah, Olive, Susan and wider family circle.
Wednesday 27 January 2016

Please accept my deepest sympathy, Olive, on Micheal's death. I didn't realise he had passed away until I read Tony McGee's piece on Michael in today's (Monday January 25th) Irish News, and I didn't realise Michael had been ill or had been hospitalised.
I knew Micheal quite well from having served with him as a selector on the GAA All Stars Awards scheme, and I vividly remember you and Micheal telling myself and my wife, Bernadette, at one of the All Stars banquets about the birth of your twin daughters around the time they were born. Naturally enough, the two of you were very excited about the arrival of the twins.
Once again, deepest sympathy, Olive, to yourself and to your three daughters (I see there was an arrival after the twins).
Monday 25 January 2016 Paddy Hickey, Bray, Co Wicklow (ex Irish Independent Sports Department).

May MICHAEL Rest in Peace.
One of my best friends at SPCA in years 1960 -1967.
Never crossed paths with Michael since I left Armagh in June 1967.
I followed his reporting of GAA in local papers and was proud to tell my children, that man was one of my great friends in school.

RIP Sunday 24 January 2016 Ailbe Beirne DERRY (& Belfast)
