I am so sorry to read that Brenda has died. She and her husband Brendan were close friends with my parents (Mary & James) and the kids all grew up along side each other attending St Patrick's Primary School and the boys at St McNissi's, Garron Tower.
When my folks went to Lourdes ~1973, two of us were shipped off to stay with the Smyths in their farmhouse in the Holywood Hills.
Such fun we had not least with Brenda looking us foster' kids better than her own (& that is saying something)!
She remained vibrant, warm and friendly even when we last met at Brendan's funeral a few years back.
Sincere condolences to the wider family.
May she rest in peace.
