I am writing from Australia on behalf of the Latimer branch of the family, brother Ian (living in Newcastle-upon-Tyne) and cousin Gordon, who lives in Sydney. Our fathers were cousins of Desmond Montgomery.
Margaret and I have been in contact with Susan on a number of occasions within the last few years and have always come away with a deep feeling of privilege at having shared time with someone who had such a profound sense of humanity. Her knowledge, lightly carried, and her level-headed attitudes were inspirational.
We know that when Desmond passed away it was profound loss but her strong character sustained her through the latter years.
Please accept our sincere condolences at this time. The world will be a poorer place with the passing of Susan Montgomery.
