Latest Sympathy Notices

Dear Mrs Barr, Jack's children, son-in-law and grandchildren-
I was surprised and saddened to learn this week of Jack's passing.
I trained under him in the Royal for a number of years in the nineties, and worked briefly with him as a locum consultant more recently.
At every stage of our relationship I was impressed and at times humbled by his intelligence, integrity, kindness, humour and basic decency. He showed me support and loyalty on a number of occasions while a trainee, and I am sure was in no small part responsible for my becoming a consultant. I continued to seek and value his advice after this, on one occasion visiting his house to do so. This last was on the suggestion of an uncle of mine, himself a retired consultant in the US, who I had previously praised Jack to.
Sincere best wishes with the difficult months ahead, and I hope they are made easier by the many fond memories of Jack I am sure that you all will have. Friday 09 December 2016 Christopher Armstrong, Glenavy
