Ernie gave me my break into the process industry way back in 1996 when he gave me a summer job at APV Belfast. I have remembered his deep knowledge, drive and black humour ever since. Always will remember Gareth Hamill and myself sitting in Ernies bedroom in Hillsborough while he sat on the bed in his pyjamas trimming his toenails and detailing to us how to design a milk pasteuriser for Leckpatrick....the look on Gareth's face!
Fond memories indeed, rest in peace Ernie you old goat and my sincere condolences to the McGrath family.
