We, the wife and family of the late Gerry Mc Cartney, would like to express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to everyone who conveyed their sympathies and supported us following our recent bereavement.

We would like to offer our sincere thanks to our family and friends, Gerry’s comrades and all those who have paid their respects and provided comfort to us.

Thank you to those who travelled long distances to offer their support during this difficult time.

We wish to thank Archie, those who formed the Guard of Honour and those who organised the tributes at the monuments.
A special word of thanks to Gerry Adams for travelling from Belfast to be with us and for delivering the most fitting tribute at the graveside.

Thank you to Sharon for making sure everything at the cemetery ran smoothly and to Sarah and Isobel for the beautiful music and singing.

Thanks to the staff from Jamm, Old Docks, SCRA, The Gasyard and Rockets, for providing the food and assistance throughout the wake and funeral.

A special mention to our Uncle Andrew and the entire Mc Cartney and Maguire Clan for their support and compassion throughout the wake and funeral.

To everyone who helped at the wake supplying tea and refreshments we are grateful and appreciative.

We would like to express our deep appreciation to North West Youth Services for providing refreshments in St Mary’s YC following the funeral service .

A word of thanks to all the nurses and doctors who cared for Gerry with such kindness and compassion, in particular the Hospital at Home Acute Care Team. You made a difficult time so much easier for us all.

Our gratitude is also extended to W J O'Brien & Son Funeral Directors, Eglinton, for their empathy and dignity.

It would be impossible to thank everyone individually and we hope everyone who has offered us their sympathies and prayers will accept this acknowledgement as a token of our appreciation for the kindness and support you have shown us.

Eileen, Úna, Deirdre, Finnuala, Mairéad, John, Ciaran, Eoighan and Gerry’s 11 Grandchildren.

Have you considered?
