When God was making Daddies as far as I can see,
he spent a lot of time on one and saved that one for me.
He made a perfect gentleman, compassionate and kind,
with more patience and affection than you could ever hope to find.
He gave this special person a solid heart of gold,
and after God had finished he must have broken the mould.

August 20, 2019, much adored Daddy of Elaine and son-in-law Stephen.
If roses grow in heaven Lord, please pick a bunch for me,
place them in my Daddy’s arms and tell him they’re from me.
Tell him that I love him and miss him and when he turns to smile,
place a kiss upon his cheek and hold him for a while,
because remembering him is easy, I do it everyday,
but there’s an ache within my heart that will never go away.

Not a day passes by Dad that you don’t cross my mind,
not all of you departed when you left our earth behind.
In my heart there is a place that only you can hold,
filled with loving memories, more priceless than gold.
I know you still hear me Dad so please know this is true,
that everything I am today is because of you.

August 20, 2019, much-loved husband of Elaine.
God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be,
so He put His arms around you and whispered, “come with Me”.
With tearful eyes we watched you and so you passed away,
although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
