The Officers, members and players of Dunmurry Cricket Club pass on our sympathies to the family of our player Gary. A much respected member of our club who will be sadly missed by his circle of family and friends. Friday 21 February 2020 Dunmurry Cricket Club

I met Gary through his wife, Claire, one of the bravest and kindest women I have ever known. And it turned out that Gary was just as special as she is. So over the years, and luckily for me, I found another friend in Gary.
You can't talk about Gary without mentioning his wife and kids as they were always part of the conversations he had with me, and many others. He really did put his family on a pedestal and I really appreciated that about him. In fact, I loved him for it. It was a huge comfort to see Claire so loved and so well cared for and their children just blossoming in that close family circle. To think that he's not going to be here to watch them grow into adults is just heartbreaking.
One thing I do know however, is that all the love he can't show them now, will be given ten fold by his wife and their family and friends.Claire and Gary's life was a love story that was cut too short in the most inexplicable way but I refuse to feel sad. Instead I will remember the laughs, the crazy times and the mad nights out we all shared over the years and I know he'll appreciate that - it's the least I can do for him.
Sending love to you Gary and rest assured I will fulfil the promise I made to you before you passed. Friday 21 February 2020 Michael Parker-McCrory
