So saddened to hear of the passing of Jim earlier this week. He was always a pillar of support, friend and mentor, second to none. Remember humour, positivity and, in the very special workplace of Unilever and R&D, a true leader of science and of doing the right thing. With integrity, and a smile, and a wink of the eye. I will always remember him and those great times. Prayers and deepest condolences to his family. Thursday 16 November 2023 Adrian Daniel

It is with great sadness that I write to send our deepest sympathies for the terrible loss to you and your family. Jim was such a big person with enormous influence and I am very thankful for all the things he did for me. We joined Colworth at the same time and worked closely there for many years. We were very close including the times in Rome and when he moved to Blackfriars.
His loss will be felt by so many who, like me, valued him so much.

I am very shocked and saddened to hear the sudden passing of Jim. He was such a passionate and inspirational friend who would take every opportunity to encourage and help others. He was a truly pioneering leader of diversity and inclusion. When he was the site leader of Colworth, he used to invite all the Chinese employees to dinner every year to cerebrate Chinese New Year. Even after he retired, he still used to call me at every Chinese New Year Day to send his blessing. It is so sad to loss such a great friend.

Our deepest condolence to Elisabeth and family. May Jim rest in peace. Thursday 16 November 2023 Guoping Lian and Yanqing Duan

Jim, this evening I will raise a glass of "good red wine" you would approve of and remember all the special times we shared, especially with the Ice Cream Conference teams and the celebrations we followed up with.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all Elizabeth. Thursday 16 November 2023 Sally Cheney
