The Sheerin Family are extremely saddened to announce the passing of their beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Daniel (Danny) SHEERIN

SHEERIN, 24th August 2022, peacefully at Foyle Hospice, DANIEL (DANNY), beloved husband of Rose, loving father of Bernard, Ann, Daniel, Martin, Lisa and the late Baby Mary, a devoted grandfather and great-grandfather, dear son of the late Bernard (Benny) and Bridget, and a dear and loving brother, uncle and father-in-law. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the entire family circle.

Funeral leaving his home, 32 Rathlin Drive, on Friday 26th August at 9:20 a.m. to St. Mary’s Church, Creggan for Requiem Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if wished, to Foyle Hospice, 61 Culmore Road, Derry.

Family time please from 9:00pm to 11:00am.

Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul. Our Lady of Lourdes intercede for him. Our Lady pray for him.

Dear Mum, Daniel and all our family in Derry. Sending all our love from Australia at this very difficult time. Dad was the most spiritual, caring, generous man I have ever had the privilege of knowing. We are so deeply saddened by his passing but he will never ever be forgotten and all that he has achieved in life. A true gentleman and known as the running man of Derry who has inspired so many. His name will live on for many many years as there will never be another Danny Sheerin. But to us he was more than the running man of Derry. He was our hero, the person we went to for advice, the person we aspire to be like and ALWAYS there for us. We love you all so very much and wish we could be there. Forever in our hearts. for the day that my Dad died, my heart just broke in two.
