Dearly beloved husband of Maureen. Much loved and loving father to Donna and Stephen. Dear father-in-law of Pamela. Proud grandad to Jordan and Robert.

Requiem Mass in St Patrick's Church, Chapel Hill, Lisburn on Friday at 10am and afterwards to Holy Trinity Cemetery.

House private.

On behalf of the Pushkin Trust, I offer our condolences to the wife and family of the late John McConnell CBE. We were saddened today to learn of his passing. John was a highly esteemed member of the Trustee Board, founded by the late Sacha, Duchess of Abercorn, located at Baronscourt, Co Tyrone, from its inception in 1986. We have lost a dear colleague, a man who was knowledgeable, helpful and a warm and caring human being. We shall miss his wise counsel and reassuring presence. I am sorry beyond words to learn of John’s passing. A wonderful friend, a special person to so many people, trusted and always helpful.
We are all saddened by John’s passing and he leaves us all with a great sense of loss.
