McCURDY, William James (Willie) – Died April 9, 2022. Peacefully at hospital, late of Saintfield, formerly of Ballycastle and Portstewart.
Dearly loved husband of Patricia, much loved father of Ceara, loving father-in-law of Bryce, devoted Avo of Axel and Skye and dear brother of Frank McCurdy and Valerie Crawford.

Service of Thanksgiving will be held in the Parish Church of Saint George, High Street, Belfast on Thursday 14th April 2022 at 11.30am, followed by interment in Roselawn Cemetery at 1.30pm.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, to R.N.L.I. c/o Norman McBriar & Son Funeral Directors, 37 Saintfield Mill, Saintfield, BT24 7FH.

So sorry to hear this news. Condolences to William's family, particularly Valerie and Frank. Very fond memories of the whole family growing up on Ann Street, Ballycastle. Disappointed not to make the funeral but only learned of Willie's passing recently. He is in my thoughts and prayers.

I worked with Willie in Fisheries Research from 1975 until my retirement in 2011 (36 years). Willie was a loyal and outstandingly conscientious colleague. His passing is a very sad loss to us all, especially his close family to whom I offer sincere condolences. May he rest in peace. Richard Briggs Friday 15 April 2022
