You can have only one special granny, patient, kind and true,
no other friend in all the world, will be the same to you.
When other friends forsake you, to granny you will return,
for all her loving kindness, she asks for nothing in return.
As I look upon her picture, sweet memories I recall,
of a face so full of sunshine, and a smile for one and all.

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be
so he put his arms around you and whispered come to me.
With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you pass away
and although we loved you dearly we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating hard, working hands at rest
God broke our hearts to prove to us he only takes the best.

Little we knew that morning God was calling your name,
in life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone,
for part of us went with you the day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide,
and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same,
